Genuine: Episode 6: Living on the Earth

Genuine Episode 6 Living on the Earth

It's been a long time coming, but here is Episode 6: Living on the Earth.

This episode features two interviews - one far afield in Israel and the other close to the earth in Vermont. We'll be talking with my third cousin, Shira Danin who lives near Tel Aviv, Israel and works at a Zoo, and with Kate Good and Edge Fuentes who live and work on Good Heart Farm in Worcester, Vermont.

We'll hear from Sarah Lipton and Carlton Green about how these two interviews weave and intersect, and we'll also hear original music from Jim Infantino, Jon Sousa, Lee Blackwell with friends Katie Trautz and R.D. Eno, sounds from New York City recorded on a trip Sarah took there, as well as some words from Andriy Kucherenko and Greg McNally.

Thanks to Nicole Arsenault and Team Podcast for the editorial and mixing work. Thanks to the growing ranks of Patrons of Genuine (we're at 19 patrons!!) for supporting the development of this podcast!!!

Genuine: Episode 5: Turning Towards Discomfort

Genuine Episode 5 Turning Towards Discomfort
Welcome to Genuine, Episode 5! We're calling this "Turning Towards Discomfort" because of the experimental roundtable conversation that Carlton hosted between Sarah and Carlton's colleague Noah.

Carlton invited Sarah and Noah to explore what it means to be white...to examine aspects of race, and to be willing to turn towards discomfort in order to see what happens when we do so.

You will hear original music by Jim Infantino and Jon Sousa. Towards the end of the episode, you'll hear some car radio sounds and ocean sounds that Sarah recorded in Maine at Portland Head Light. At the very end of the episode, we'll get to hear Wolf van Lieshout from the Netherlands read the credits, and we'll hear Natanya Bittman define what genuine means to her - make sure to listen long enough to hear that!

Thanks to Nicole Arsenault and Team Podcast for the editorial and mixing work. Thanks to the growing ranks of Patrons of Genuine (we're up to 23!!!) for supporting the development of this podcast!!!

You will hear sounds of Boulder, Colorado recorded by David Lipton as well as original music by Jim Infantino and Jon Sousa. Genuine: Preview Episode

Genuine Preview Episode

Welcome, to Genuine.

I am thrilled to release this preview episode of Genuine, a fresh new podcast produced by The Presence Point. I’m so happy you found us here at the beginning! The aim of this podcast is to find, harvest and curate stories from around the world that showcase what it means to live a genuine human life, no matter the challenges or circumstances.

My deepest conviction is that today’s society needs us to show up as exactly who we are - that in order for society to flourish and blossom in a way that benefits all levels of society and the planet, we must be genuine. To that end, I am always looking to magnetize moments of genuine presence, to highlight the power of authentic connection, and creating a podcast has been a really satisfying way to this. Besides, let’s face it, this is the real joy of being human!

What you are about to hear in this preview podcast episode is a teaser including many of the voices and sounds from the full episodes to come. In speaking with friends - and friends of friends - from my travels around the world, I’ve learned what inspires them, what sparks them, as well as what challenges and journeys they’ve experienced along the way. I want to know how they got from where they were raised to the place from which they now live a life based on radical inspiration. The people I chose to interview for this podcast are extraordinary in that they are living ordinary lives, but doing so with insight and genuine expression. In order to create a rich listening environment for you, my audience, I went with my own inspiration as to who in the world would be sparkling examples of living genuinely. In my life, these people are gems, and I’m deeply excited to share them with you now.

Producing this first season of Genuine has been an incredible learning experience. Our sound quality might be a bit rough at times but hopefully you’ll find enough value in the rich content to get past a few rough vocals. Despite building this from scratch, like a patchwork quilt, we’re striving to bring forth a genuine experience for you.

Again, we’re so delighted that you’ve found us right here at the beginning, so enough talking, let’s dive on in!
